Stanford Limestone is unlikely to be in the business of virtual worlds and similar, which is the only area in which Linden Lab’s trademark applies. So you’d be fine.

Agreed, it’s total bull that they can claim a trademark on the two letters “SL” what if a ran a company called, Standford Limestone, and i abbreviate it, and they come after me? Wait, Kath, can they even sue you since you’re a) a minor, and b) in the UK.

#10, I never said it was new – however, as far as I can tell, if they’re claiming on “SL,” my right to use “sl” in a name is somewhat dubious anyway.

I think you’re wrong this time, Katharine. LL is badly managing the trademarks issue, but they’re not doing anything new under the corporations sun. This is common practice in industry.
So, you don’t need to close anything. But you’re free to do it, so do it.

That said, keep up the good work. You’re a great developer.

Actually they do like it, and it doesn’t go through a login proxy (any more) – so the IP changes frequently.

And I’ve had no reports of anyone being banned for using it. Unless that is a report, in which case I’ve had one.

the fun thing about ajaxlife is that LL don’t like ajaxlife’s proxy ip since tons of people login through it (or they just don’t like ajaxlife period), and that makes them ban your avatar, then you have to go through anxiety and panic attacks and fight like crazy to get it unbanned. yipee
