// Include region and x/y position, not for the GSA, but
// just to get logs on the web server for search_proxy.php
// showing where people were standing when they searched.
What possible use do LL have for this data? What would you do if you knew where people searched for what?
I can’t see any, myself.
Side note: GSA probably stands for Google Search Appliance.
I am aware that Linden Lab have released the new search officially. As such, I will be looking into what I can do about integrating it nicely onto AjaxLife over the weekend.
I suspect my solution will involve PHP, regular expressions, and JavaScript. Although I may make this part of the executable, in order to assist those who would be trying to run AjaxLife themselves (if any are).
Edited to fix myriad typos caused by my posting this from my phone while lying in bed.
By semi-popular demand, AjaxLife is running again. I assume it works – all I get is the highly useful error “Your account has been disabled. Please visit www.secondlife.com to renew your membership.” – but that’s to be expected, given I cancelled the account.
So there you go. Development is somewhat hard, given I can’t log in. But it’s running. I also finally managed to get around to repairing the login screen, which also no longer relies on strange proxying things.
It’s also been repeatedly suggested that I should uncancel my account. I won’t do so, for two reasons – firstly, I am not aware of anywhere I can go without being harassed by people like Shawn (see his earlier comments before he was auto-blacklisted). Secondly, it’d cost money. I wouldn’t object to that if I actually had good reason to pay it, but I don’t.
Also, still no idea what I’m going to do instead. But also no idea what I’d do if I was there, so… >.>
Despite my earlier “never be nice” sentiment, I have posted a variety of scripts from my inventory on the TG forum. Still waiting for the account to actually be on hold.
Also, I have no idea what to do now. For the time being, I shall simply have to play on my Wii. And exchange emails with anyone who cares to mail me (I’m lonely and bored! – katharine@katharineberry.co.uk).
Also, I have a server not doing anything other than running a webserver redirecting to this blog. Any suggestions?

Following proof that there is nothing left for me in SL, both from an earlier discussion and a recent event, I’ve decided to go out entirely. See comments on that post that were added while I was typing.
I’ve cancelled my account. AjaxLife development will stop, and the public service will be terminated.
You may be happy, Mercury, that I won’t send you a third IM (oh, the horror!) about the sim you took from me. You may be happy, majority of TSL (especially Shawn, Daisy Brennen and Dontay Brennen (the “FUCK YOU KATHERINE BERRY” person)), that I won’t be around to do whatever it is I do to make you dislike me so much.
And Daisy, I don’t moderate comments, unless they’re spam.
EDIT: I’ve also pulled down the donation button (there’s nothing left to donate for, so…).
EDIT 2: Found who had named me in their profile, and added links to their web profiles.
So, I gave away my sim, on the condition that a plan was formed, and said plan was executed. Well, a plan was formed all right. But not executed at all. When I complain, I get a rude response, banned from the sim, and two other people IMing me about “harassing” their friend (is a single IM harassment? Interesting.)
At least two of them then decide to report me for it.
You know, Mercury Metropolitan, stealing sims from people isn’t nice. I clearly shouldn’t trust people. I’m not going to bother trying to be nice again.
I hate people. (And that includes myself.)

AjaxLife’s login screen, a slightly altered version of Linden Lab’s own, is currently broken due to structural changes in Linden Lab’s screen. I’ll fix it ASAP – which isn’t right now, because it’s 2am and I have essays to write. Login still works, however, so it’s not a major issue.
Well, on the one hand search and WindLight, yay!
On the other, it doesn’t like me.

P.S. The AjaxLife server (as in the machine) is down. Working on it.
They’ve decided to hold a Town Hall on Tuesday (at 4pm PST – is this chosen specifically so everybody’s either at school or sleeping? *sigh*), and re-enabled PayPal signup. Well, if you’re in a specific subset of users, I guess. Why don’t they like me?

The message is even self-contradictory and false (no email was sent). And what’s “PalPal”?
Bonus points if they announce it on their blog. Even more if it actually works for me. It’d be nice if the Town Hall wasn’t at midnight too, but that’s just timezones for you.
One down, a whole load to go. Keep trying!
UPDATE: The email eventually arrived, albeit very delayed. It turns out the failure message was wrong, because it actually had succeeded. Right… Anyway, yay! Now I shall instead complain that, although we still have the old (from at least 2005) Orientation Island, we get the new HUD. This is totally confusing. Two points for LL, however. They just need to fix their lying error messages.
