I'm sort of waiting on LL for some more of that Message Liberation stuff - specifically the send/receive packets over HTTP - before I improve it. That'll make doing this stuff much more stable, and allow me to reduce the server side to a proxy that just handles data between you and SL in order to circumvent the Same Origin Policy.
