Don’t press strange buttons.

Don’t press strange buttons in Internet Explorer’s menus at school. You might get punished for it.

Depending on how things turn out, I may not be around for a while

Two hours later, things turned out okay, at least until Monday. And I can’t be any more specific for fear of wrath of various people.

  • You know Kate its not polite to leave us with such a cryptic message. I know you have higher standards than this. Also do you mean published or punished. I am assuming you meant punished because of your last statement.

I am sorry for your problem.

  • I can’t be more specific. People might yell at me. Sorry! :(

  • You know, there aren’t really that many odd buttons in IE. And if any of them do bad things to school computers, it’s the fault of the idiots who set them up for not using something like DeepFreeze. Any school IT person ought to know that high schoolers will be pushing every button pushable, and quite a few which aren’t supposed to be pushable anyway.

So whatever happened, it was their fault, and you shouldn’t be afraid to tell them so.

  • The security is actually really good – but every so often it turns out they missed something. Well, actually, this was the first time, but still. >.>

  • o.O I hope everything is well. If it isn’t, I hope it is all good soon…

And I promise I won’t click on those “hot girls in your area” pop-ups at school o.O

  • Ow, yeah, i found that out when i tried to launch a command prompt to see is the net was down, and was promptly locked out of the system for 2 days. It turns out a new image was pushed out over vacation that wasnt supposed to let you use command prompt. Good thing im friends with the director of technology, who say that i didnt know and let me off.

  • Ahh, i dont talk like that in Real Life, isnt there an edit comment feature?

  • If you clicked a button and it let in a virus, it’s not *your* fault. You didn’t write the virus, and I’m sure that you’re not the first person to click on something like that.

  • It didn’t let in a virus. It turned up some IPs, and when I visited one of them alarm bells went off. Possibly literally, given the response time was about five minutes, including getting into the same room as me.
